Who said Dutch pancakes have to be sweet?! This time, I’m sharing my savory Dutch pancake recipe with you guys, and it’s so easy to make that you’ve got no excuses. All you need to do is preheat your cast iron pan in the oven while working on the batter. Once the pan is hot, pour the batter on top, and the temperature difference between the cold batter and the hot pan will create the magic of the Dutch pancake. It’s always mesmerizing to watch the pancake rise over the top of the pan—I get excited every single time. For a New York-style twist, I topped mine with smoked wild salmon, dollops of sour cream, chives, and red onion. This makes for an incredible breakfast/brunch dish to treat your loved ones this upcoming weekend!

Ingredients

For the dutch pancake:

  • 115 gr milk
  • 50 gr all purpose flour
  • 3 pasture raised eggs
  • Black pepper, cracked
  • Salt
  • stick of butter

  • Smoked wild salmon
  • Sour cream
  • Chives, thinly sliced
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Lets Start Cooking!

step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F or 220°C with a cast iron pan in it.

In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, black pepper, salt, and flour and whisk just until fully combined.

Carefully remove the pan from the oven. Add the butter to the hot pan, once melts, add all the batter in.

Bake for 20 min.

step 5

Remove from the oven and add the smoked wild salmon, sour cream, chives, and red onions. Drizzle olive oil on top.
